The Eucharistic Bell, which is doing the rounds of the dioceses of Ireland at present, visited our parish on Sunday 26th June. The bell was met by a large group of parishioners on the Dunmore Rd and carried in procession by a group of bell-bearers to the Cathedral. The procession paused briefly at the broken wheel at the bottom of the Cathedral terrace for a short prayer service. Ann Quinn, who was the bell co-ordinator for our parish read a reflection which included the main elements of the christian story of our parish. Dr Tony Claffey gave a talk on the significance of bells in our irish christian tradition.
